But all of them actually meet on a common denominator. As Andrew Carnegie said, “Teaming is the ability to work together towards a shared vision. The ability to direct individual achievements towards organizational goals. It is the fuel that enables ordinary people to achieve rare results.” We can call it a team for 2 or more people working for a common purpose. Being a team can also be said to be the case of combining the unique skills, education and knowledge of each individual and working together to benefit from them.
Teamwork can generally be thought of as the willingness of a group of people to work together to achieve a common goal. For example, we often use the phrase “he’s a good team player”.
This means that someone has the team’s interests working for the good and success of their team. Teamwork blends people with their individual strengths to complement each other, and in doing so, brings people together with a sense of camaraderie and a shared vision. It is the work done to apply the strengths of these people in a common direction to meaningful goals. Because as Ken Blanchard said, “None of us is as smart as all of us.”
The first sine qua non of teamwork is of course correct communication. People who fail to listen and speak cannot find a common ground, no matter how talented they are. Miscommunication can be seen as the most important factor hindering progress. Also, communication doesn’t have to be just verbal. The fact that the team can get along in harmony, even without speaking, is the biggest step towards success.
It is necessary to have the right atmosphere for teamwork. A suitable environment is needed for each team member to feel comfortable and productive. A properly decorated, comfortable and stylish environment increases the motivation of people. Thus, the brainstorming and exchange of ideas throughout the study becomes more enjoyable.
